It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Jeffery Charles Hatch, 50, of Roswell, NM. The beloved husband of Roberta Atkinson for 11 years, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Jeff was born on June 25, 1966, to Charles Lee and Geni Hatch in Coozbay, Oregon. Jeff worked for the New Mexico Department of Transportation for 27 years as an Inspector. Work was a pleasure and it showed, thru all the friendships he made throughout his life at work and otherwise. Jeff loved life and spending time with family and friends, making them laugh; always the clown of the group. Riding a motorcycle and playing guitar were among many interests in Jeff’s life, but nothing could top the passion he had for the outdoors, especially the mountains. He enjoyed traveling to places such as Colorado and Arizona, with mountain terrain for hiking. Jeff particularly loved hiking the Grand Canyons. He was a big Denver Broncos fan and made sure to let everyone know it. A fireworks fanatic, not caring what time of year it was, he had a blast popping them off. Anytime you would hear fireworks going off, you could almost guarantee it was Jeff clowning around. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceding Jeff in death were his parents: Charles Lee and Geni Hatch; mother and father-in-law: Bill and Marie Atkinson; and grandparents. Besides his wife Robbie, Jeff is survived by sons: Mark Luman (Michelle) and James Atkinson (Jennifer), all of from Roswell, NM; brother, Gregory Hatch of Santa Fe, NM; brother-in-law’s: Rick and Jody Atkinson and children, Will and Sarah Atkinson, Tim Atkinson and daughter, Danielle, Arthur and Tam Daley and son Tyler; three grandsons and four granddaughters.
