Stephen Gregory Staeden was unexpectedly called home to His Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, in Lubbock, Texas at the young age of 46. He was born in Roswell, NM, to Steve John Staeden, Jr. and Theda (King) Staeden on July 27, 1970. “Greg”, as he liked to be called, was born and raised in Roswell. He graduated from Roswell High School in 1989. As a young man, he moved to Brookhaven, Mississippi. Greg fathered two sons, of which he was extremely proud. He worked over seventeen years at a warehouse distribution center before returning to Roswell to care for his ailing father, who sadly passed earlier this year. Greg was undoubtedly one of the most caring men, devoting his life to helping others. He had a heart of gold and would often take gifts and food to family and friends, for no special reason, most of the time just because it made him feel good to give. One might say Greg lived his life to serve others. He had a very outgoing personality with a generous spirit. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and also attended the Salvation Army Church in Roswell. Listening to all types of music and singing was an activity Greg loved. He let it be known, he was a “die-hard” Dallas Cowboy’s fan. It was a rare and unusual occasion for him to miss a game. Greg will always be remembered as having a giving heart, helping out others, even if he didn’t know them. Preceding Greg in death was his father, Steve John Staeden, Jr. Those left to carry on Greg’s heritage are his sons: Stephen Staeden, Jr. (Ashton-wife) and Parker Staeden of Brookhaven, MS; mother, Theda (King) Staeden of Roswell, NM, and brother, Bryan Staeden (Julie-wife) of Roswell, NM. In honor of Greg and his giving nature, donations may be given to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice. A viewing will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 9, 2016, 4:00 to 6:00 PM at 2609 S. Main Street, Roswell, NM, 88203. Graveside Services will be Monday, October 10, 2016, 2:00 PM at South Park Cemetery. The Reverend Gerry Chavez will officiate the service. Please take a moment to share your love and support for the Staeden family in memory of Greg in the online register at andersonbethany.com. Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to be chosen to serve the Staeden family in their time of need.
