Clifford Emil Powell passed away peacefully on May 18, 2015, in Conroe, Texas, at the age of 79. Cliff was born on January 12, 1936, in Chattanooga, TN to James Clifford Powell and Hazel McAdoo Powell.
Cliff enjoyed an adventurous life and happy 52-year marriage to his wife, Lynette. They were longtime residents of Conroe, Montgomery County where he worked for the Sheriff’s office after retiring from a career in the oil industry, and proudly serving his country in the Air Force helping East Germans after their escape across the Berlin Wall. He lived abroad for a time, traveled the world and savored diverse cultures, learning new languages and making life-long friends along the way. Cliff was fluent in German and Arabic. His charismatic personality and multifarious interests presented him with unique opportunities throughout his exceptional time on Earth. In earlier years he was an amateur pilot, a radio D.J., and barber shop owner.
A quick-witted jokester, you could always count on Cliff for a laugh. To those that had the pleasure and honor of his acquaintance:

Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lynette, their sons Blake and Timothy; sons, Cliff and Rick; daughters, Katrina, Christine and Monica; sisters, Jane and Joyce; nine grandchildren; close family friend, Abdul, and many other dear relatives and friends.
