A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m, Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Eastside Church of Christ, 301 E. Second St., Dexter, NM, for Ardell Richard Behnke, age 73, of Hagerman, who passed away on June 21, 2015. Minister Robert Bowles will be officiating.
Ardell was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, to William and Dorothea Behnke on April 20, 1942. He married Judith D. Greenwood in Greeley, Colorado, in 1989, between them they had six children.
He began his work career on the family-owned dairy and drove transport trucks for many years. He loved having fun with anyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed a good joke and would tell jokes just so that he could see people’s reactions. He served the church by maintaining the church grounds and all of the maintenance needs. Ardell loved his Lord and his church. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judith and their children; brother, Dennis Behnke of Merrill, Wisconsin; sisters, Arlene Henke and her husband Richard of Merrill, Wisconsin; Jean Richards and Cheryl Steckling both of Wausau, Wisconsin and Linda Flieschman of Gleason, Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Delores Hloucal.
