A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the South Park Cemetery in Roswell, New Mexico, for Juanita Ellen Hadder who passed away October 3, 2014. Juanita was the oldest of five children born to Ernest M. and Kate Marguerette Haley on November 22, 1920, in Tonkawa, OK. The family moved to Roswell, New Mexico in 1929. She graduated from Roswell High School in 1938 where she was in the Honor Society. Juanita attended Bethany Nazarene College for one year and then one year at Eastern New Mexico College, Portales, New Mexico.
She was a car hop at A & W Root Beer for her first job and then worked at Sears Roebeck & Co in Roswell.
She married Perry E. Hadder January 1, 1942, in Roswell. They later divorced in 1966. They lived in Southern California for several years where their first four children were born. Then the family moved to Moses Lake, WA, for a couple of years where their youngest child was born. They then moved to Hayward, California, in 1957, where she lived for 43 years.
Juanita worked until she had her first child and then she was a stay-at-home mother for many years. When she started working outside the home again she worked at Kaiser Permanente in Hayward, CA, as Personnel Director and then began working in the Personnel Dept. at Cal State Hayward in 1966 until she retired in 1985.
During her retirement she enjoyed visiting her children and grandchildren, traveling and participating in many ministries and activities in her church. One of the places she traveled to with some of her siblings was to Australia. She enjoyed music and singing in the choir.
She was a member of Hayward, California Church of the Nazarene for many years, where she served as church board secretary, taught Sunday School, was on the counting team, and took turns in the nursery. At the time of her death she was a member of the Florence Church of the Nazarene. She married Earl Kilpatrick Feb. 13, 2000. They traveled to many states in her motor home. They lived between his home in Klamath Falls, OR and her new home in Florence, OR. Together they participated in Mappers and Roamers, where they would help build or remodel churches and church camp grounds.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Kilpatrick; her sons Barton (Jackie) Hadder, Washington; Garwin (Val) Hadder, Oregon; daughters: Lawana Ananda; and Karen (Corky) Wilde, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; stepson Bob (Sharon) Kilpatrick; stepdaughters Cindy (Kerry) Smith, Earla Kasinger, Kathy (Dan) Conrad, Kayla (Lonan) Rooney; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; brother: Virgil (Lillian) Haley; sister: Iva Dell Ferrell of Roswell, NM; and many nephews and nieces. Juanita was preceded in death by her infant son Loren Terry; her parents; and her sisters: Levita Gauntt and Wilma Troutman.
