A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1405 N. Sycamore Ave., Roswell, NM, 88201 for Samuel Richard Thoreson, 86, of Roswell, who passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on June 1, 2015 after battling prostate cancer and COPD for over 10 years. Pastor Robert Paul will officiate.
The family of Samuel Richard Thoreson wishes to thank the following caregivers: Dr. Tareq Braik, the staff at Kymera Cancer Treatment Center, and Gentiva Hospice personnel, for the wonderful care you gave to Sam as he battled prostate cancer. We will always remember the way that each of you conducted yourself at the highest level of professional standards, but more importantly how each of you showed tender hearts, compassionate spirits, and love when caring for Sam. We know Sam felt blessed to be in your care.
We want to extend a special thanks to Dr. Braik, for always striving to extend Sam’s life, while ensuring that Sam could remain pain free and enjoy a good quality of life. We could not have asked for a more competent, knowledgeable, caring physician. You are truly a blessing from God and we will always remember you with fondness in our hearts.
