KATHLEENFuneral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, at Midway Baptist Church for Kathleen W. Lemke, 73, who passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015, at home with her husband by her side. Pastor Randy Reeves of Washington Avenue Fellowship will officiate with burial to follow at Roswell Veteran’s Cemetery.

Kathleen was born March 11, 1941 in Bolton, Lancashire, England to William Robinson and Edna Pover Robinson who preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Roy Lemke of the family home in Dexter; sons Franklin Lemke and Joseph Lemke; daughters Jacqueline Ortiz Camacho and June Lemke; grandchildren Diana Ortiz and Joy Miller and great-grandchildren Alfredo Gonzalez Jr. and Madeyline.

Kathleen resided in Roswell for the last twenty years coming from Rockford, IL. She was of the Christian faith. Kathleen loved the Golden Age of Country music. She loved to travel, drive, sing and dance. Kathleen has survived more than one life or death situation, in 1980 she was in an accident in her semi-truck coming off Three Sister Pass; 1992 she survived the hantavirus in Phoenix, AZ; 1993 almost passed while having gall bladder surgery; 1994 a heart attack in Rockford, IL; 2006 triple bypass surgery; 2007 kidney failure the first time; 2010 axial by lateral fem pop; 2011 kidney failure a second time and 2013 ruptured abdominal acute aneurysm. Kathleen was so strong in her faith that in 2006 when they did the triple bypass the surgeon came and told us the chances of survival were slim to none and she looked at him and said, I quote, “God is the only one who decides who lives or dies and how long they live. You are just his tool to make repairs to what we mess up” and that was why they did the surgery. She lived a hard life but always kept a smile on her face.
